The Importance of the SEO Title

Added on: August 06, 2008 11:00:06

The title tag points to the content of your SEO site. Therefore, you have to check and check again for relevance. It is the most significant element of your web page and could make or break your presence on the Net. All search engines scan titles for relevance to queries and it could be your gateway to a page that promises search engine optimization. Short and simple While visitors should be satisfied with the title and the promise it holds, the title should neither give too much nor too little. Too descriptive a title? Nah! The visitor will get bored. Too little clue to the content? The visitor will not give it a second look. Where are the leads in it? So keep it short and simple. The SEO title has specific attributes. Lets take a look.

Every page should have a unique <title> tag on it. This is what creates lead generation for your pages.

The title tag should contain the keywords and keyword phrases but not so many that it confuses the visitor as to the sites core area/s.

Title tags should vary throughout the site instead of being common to all pages. After all, your pages do not provide the same information throughout. So why should title tags remain the same? Since each page has a different set of information, their titles should also vary and reflect the focus of the page

Titles should ideally be limited to 65 characters. Long titles run the risk of being redundantly phrased and being stuffed with keywords. This also means you have to use your words and phrases carefully so that the title gives only as much as required. Let title tags draw in the visitors first rather than backlinks from other sites.

How Businesses Can Benefit From Blogging

Added on: August 01, 2008 17:25:24

Every businessperson these days knows that a web presence is necessary to be competitive in todays market. The amount of business conducted over the internet is only increasing and it is important to find a web solution that is right for you. For many years, websites have been considered the standard but have you considered a weblog (aka "blog") as a means of reaching out to a wider range of clientele? Having a blog and being a part of the blogosphere can give you the edge you need to generate leads and take your business to the next level. Consider the following when deciding what type of site would be best for you and your business:

• Setting Up a Blog Is Far Easier Than Creating a Website

Knowing how much of an effect the internet has had on the way business is conducted, its hard to believe that there are still businesses without an online presence. However, the process of creating and maintaining a website can see too overwhelming to some business owners and they simply choose not to market their business on the web. With blogs, even the most computer-challenged individuals can design a site and manage it with relative ease. There are platforms where you can build your own blog site and publish it live on the internet in one transaction. This makes the process of joining the blogosphere an easy, time efficient alternative to a website.

• Blogging is a More Cost Effective Solution Than a Website

Hiring a graphic designer and web developer to generate a website can be quite the expenditure. If you are a newer business or if your business has been struggling, spending that type of money probably isnt an option. Blogs are a good solution financially as there are blogging platforms available that require a minimal investment. If cost is a major factor in determining how you can get your business online, a blog site is the way to go.

• Dynamic Content Keeps Search Engines and Visitors Coming Back

Websites have what is known as static content, meaning that the content on the site remains the same at all times. In most cases, the content on a website will only be changed if the information displayed needs corrections or updates. On a blog site, new, fresh, content is added on a regular basis attracting readers and search engines. Visitors like to see things that are new and different and they will return to your site for the useful, worthwhile information you will provide. Search engines also like dynamic content. Blog sites that have regularly updated content will generally rank higher in the SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Pages), bringing you more traffic than your competitors websites.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg. Participating in the blogosphere can open up numerous doors for your business.
